Rising epidemic of drug addicts

When looking at the wide amount of social problems in the world today many fingers point at drugs as a major factor in the deterioration of our existence; but what is the result and how do we fix these issues. It would be impossible to blame one area as there are many types of drugs and some that are not even considered a drug by the standards of society, therefore where does the problem lye. There definitely needs to be a resolve and with enough research in these areas one day something may be done.

At this time most research has been done on the drug use on the scale of risk factors of individuals such as poverty, educational factors but our research needs to stretch much further to other risk factors such as abuse and trauma. Essentially drug use is not the problem it is the underlying issues that draws a person to use the drug in the first place.

How we can reach people to not use drugs and if they do find out the reasoning behind their use rather than tracking how they use. Many studies have concluded the rise and fall in the use of various street drugs as well as prescription drugs although little has been done on why. This is telling us that other studies need to be done do lessen the amount of use rather than what do we do now with all these addicts. Addictive studies are very well needed on how to help now that we are dealing with a vast amount of addicts but could we have saved some of these people from addiction to start with?

Some studies are beginning to surface showing that abuse can be a cause or at least a factor in the rising amount of drug use. This can be huge in the problem solving of addiction if we reach trauma victims before drug use becomes a way to solve the problems experienced by these victims. It is being shown that women who are victims of sexual abuse have the
